Unique Outdoor Fitness Conditioning Classes for
Men & Women
Release Form
Why Outdoors?
-
Living in Steamboat, we cherish our
time outside, especially during the summer months. The Outdoor
Fitness Experience is the perfect way to get a challenging,
total body workout and still enjoy the outdoors.
-
Taking your exercise outdoors means
that each workout becomes an adventure, a chance to observe
nature, and an opportunity to rejuvenate your spirit.
-
Outdoor workouts bring you back to
basics aerobic breath, motion, natural environment. It is a time
to challenge your body & mind and discover a sense of
well-being.
-
Additionally, the Outdoor Fitness Experience offers you a
refreshing break from loud music, artificial lighting, whirring
machines, and blinking televisions. Give your senses a rest
from all the electronic input!

Where Do Classes Meet?
-
Classes are held at a different
scenic location each time. We meet at public parks, trails,
mountains, creek side and even lakeshore areas.
-
Individual sessions are scheduled
throughout the day. Most classes meet early in the morning. By
doing so, we avoid crowds, beat the late day heat, keep your
afternoons free to fulfill other commitments, and get a perfect
start to the day.

What's
In A Workout?
Every Outdoor Fitness Experience
session is different! Although no two workouts are exactly the
same, every 75-minute class is a total body workout including:
-
warm up/joint lubrication
-
cardio/aerobic conditioning
-
strength training/toning
-
balance & agility exercises
-
flexibility
training/stretching
-
mental focus exercise
On any given day, the workout may
include such elements as running or
walking, calisthenics, plyometrics, stairs, resistance training with
hand weights or rubber tubing, athletic drills, and/or movements
similar to those found in yoga or Pilates.
These workouts are fun and
challenging. You will work at your own level, whether you are
already very fit or are just beginning your fitness quest. Class
size is limited, so you will always receive individual attention.

Safety First!
-
Walk
or run on the LEFT side of the road, facing traffic. Do not
assume drivers can see you, particularly at sunrise & sunset
when the sun's rays are blinding.
-
Bicycle on the RIGHT side of the
road, with the flow of traffic. Obey traffic signals. Yield to
pedestrians. Use hand signals to alert drivers when you are
turning. Wear a helmet!
-
Wear visible colors; red, yellow,
orange. This is especially important on rurl roads where
cyclists and pedestrians are not as common, where there is no
sidewalk or shoulder, and when you are in rural areas during
hunting season.
-
Wear reflective gear if you are out
before sunrise or after sunset.
-
Do NOT wear headphones. You need
to be able to hear what is
going on around you.
-
Let someone know where you are
going and approximately how long you expect to be gone.
-
Carry identification and change to
make a phone call. Carry your cell phone if
you own one.
-
Be
prepared with extra food or
money to buy a snack in case you are out longer than anticipated
and need extra energy to get home.
